Hey guys, I just wanted to start a thread of my build. I know some of you have seen it in the "introduce yourself" column. I just started the body work after blowing it completely apart this past week. Not 1 bolt or part on the car so I thought this would be a good place to start. Hoping to get the body work done and chassis painted in the next couple of weeks.

looks awesome, Mike. What engine are you going to run? By the way.....my C S centerline is at 11 3/4". Believe me, if I was doing it over again, I would go full tube chromoly with struts. I built mine to run Nostalgia ProStreet and Quick 8. It has to be a back-halved, front clipped car with stock firewall. That has given me NIGHTMARES with fitment. I'll try to post more pics of it on the ground in my thread.
Good luck, it's gonna be sweet! Wink

Looking good.. Is that a homebuilt chassis or a kit? The front end kinda looks like a Morrison kit????

cheers
Charlie

Don, Thanks for the kind words. I figured you would have some troubles with the stock ft. end. It will be worth it when its done though. I wish I had done struts instead of A arms only had alittle problem with number 1 cylinder header tube being to close to the upper A arm bracket. Im going to have a 557ci with either A heads or Kaase P51's. Hoping to have a mid 9 sec. Pro or Super pro ET car.
Charlie, My chassis is home built with the exception of the Ft. A arm which is a Chris Alston Chassisworks kit. I wanted to have all the correct alignment ( bump steer, caster, camber, ) and their kit is easy, all you need to know is the hub width.
Im in between coats on the chassis, I check in later.

Looks like good progress Mike. Gonna be bad@$$. Since you are planning on running some pretty quick times I thought I'd offer:

I occasionally work tech at Bandimere and would be willing to help you make sure your build is NHRA legal. PM if interested.

Mike,
my headers actually won't be too bad. I got rid of the towers when I went to a Mustang II setup. I since changed over to a Pinto rack for even more room.........still wish I went with struts........damn Rolling Eyes

More picts. I got the chassis painted last weekend and started to install some parts. I ran all the brake lines and started the wiring. Cant tell from the picts. but the dash and firewall are silver carbon fiber. Im trying to get it to a "roller" so I can take it to work to paint the body. Its going to be blue, the color is from a 2001 Audi S4. Don, whats with the VW colors? I guess great minds think alike Wink The chassis is a Ford color F-series charcoal.

I have got some more done to my ride. All the body work is done and the car is painted now. Started working on the engine as well, Im waiting for the rotating assy to get here so I can get everything to the machine shop. For those who dont know the engine will be a 557ci Ahead combo.
